Last night Mr Bingo and I went to 3 openings/product/store launches. Only one party was any good, and no, it wasn't the one with a Beastie Boy in attendance (Turns out, it was Mike D. I actually had to look him up on Wikipedia because, for as much indie cred as I delude myself into thinking I have, I am totally hopeless at distinguishing Mike D. from AdRock.)

The first event was fun because we got there in time to 1) drink free wine, 2) eat free canapés, and 3) score a gift bag. When it's a brand you love, it pays to be unfashionable early. The second event was super scene-y with lots of girls doing the whole short black skirt/dress coupled with clunky high-heeled ankle boots. I love how they all think they look unique and sexy, yet they ALL LOOK THE SAME. Totally boring. There were some cool people there, however. I met this artist (super nice), this photographer (super duper nice), and a woman whose name escapes me (she used to work for Opening Ceremony and now does something else -- I can't remember what -- but she is super down to earth and surprisingly unpretentious.)

After that we hopped over to the Surface to Air party which was a completely retarded clusterfuck. We stayed all of 3 minutes then hightailed it to dinner at Le Cercle Rouge.

Tonight is FNO, Anna Wintour's absurd Fashion's Night Out which essentially transforms SoHo and the Meatpacking District into idiotic shopaholic fashion zombie lands.

I'm staying home.
