Our friend left this morning at 5:30am to make an early flight out of Newark. It was really great to see her and hang out, but I'm happy to have the house back. And man, oh man, do we have piles of laundry to do. It's neverending.

I hope our friend had a good time. For our last meal together, we went to Roberta's in Bushwick. The food is definitely worth travelling for, although sometimes the wait can be totally annoying. I think that's why they invented chilled rosé. Also, their music selections are of the Mario Batali variety i.e. good for keeping the cooks energized, loud and obnoxious for diners. Don't get me wrong—I love the Dead Kennedys. I just don't want to listen to them, on 11, while I'm trying to have a conversation over dinner.

TA is off at a meeting organized by his annoying client who's always last minute about everything. And always makes wardrobe demands. One time it was, "Can you be sure to wear a suit?" Today, it's "Make sure you wear a tie. We're meeting with some important people." TA hates being told what to wear because it implies that he's never dressed appropriately which is ridiculous. He always looks natty and professional, and he believes firmly that designers should look like designers, not investment bankers. Anyway, he is rebelling in his typical way, by dressing like a circa 1964 Mission Control engineer: short-sleeved white shirt, skinny vintage tie, slim-fit khakis and Desert boots. It's a good look.

Me? I have a metric shit-ton of work to do, and no will to do it. What else is new?
